7 Day Hair Care Routine

Hello my lovelies,
I'm back again! Hope you enjoy this blog post and you find it helpful!

I created a 7 day hair care routine that has worked wonders. As someone who struggles with dry hair, my goal was to add some serious shine and smoothness.

Here’s my routine:

Day 1 – Create a healthy hair diet
To start your 7 day routine off right, the first key is to nourish your hair from the inside out and that means creating a diet rich with hair boosting vitamins and minerals. I started off ditching all nasty foods like sugar and processed meals and I went back to basics. My diet consisted of healthy fats, lean protein and plenty of filtered water to give my hair the energy it needed.
A typical day looked like this:
·      Warm water with lemon to kick start my digestion in the morning
·      Breakfast of boiled eggs and avocado on sourdough toast
·      Lunch of grilled chicken salad with olives and a drizzle of olive oil
·      Baked salmon with roasted vegetables

Day 2 – Ditch the heating tools

On day 2, I made the brave decision to ditch any heating tools from my routine! This was to ensure I wasn’t overworking my hair or doing it too much damage.
I wanted to give my hair a break from the harsh winter by really nourishing it with food and more natural products.
The first step I made was putting my straightener away to avoid temptation (a big step for me!). I then washed my hair with Garnier Ultimate Blends The Colour Illuminator Shampoo and Conditioner for coloured, dry hair. This is my personal favourite as it’s really suited to my hair type and gives me instant shine and smoothness.
I allowed my hair to dry naturally, just by towel drying it and letting it eventually dry out.

Day 3 – Choose a mask treatment
On Day 3, I was on a mission to treat my hair and give it the time out it needed from harsh ingredients and heating tools. I used the EverStrong Strengthening and Repairing Mask Treatment from L’Oréal Paris’ Hair Expertise range because it’s made with 100% sulphate-free solution, plus botanical oils. This unique mixture is perfect for a mask treatment, as it deeply nourishes the hair.
I left the treatment in for about 5 minutes to give my hair the best chance of repairing itself from the harsh Winter winds. I also upped my healthy fat intake that day to ensure my hair was really being nourished both inside and out. I could already feel the smoothness and softness coming back into my locks after years of using heating tools and harsh products.

Day 4 – Prepare your hair for a night out

Halfway through my healthy hair care routine, I was invited to dinner and wanted to try a new style for my hair, without using any heating tools. I chose the EverStrong Texturising Spray from L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise and worked it into my hair for a really nice soft wave. My hair is slightly wavy naturally, so this worked a treat for that ‘just came from the beach’ look.

Day 5 – Wash gently

On Day 5, I was working from home, so I allowed my hair to again dry naturally after washing it in the morning.
I was a bit more careful with the application of my conditioner this time and tried a trick that my hairdresser taught me. She advised that before conditioning the hair, you should squeeze the water from your hair in the shower and then apply the conditioner and work it through your hair gently with massage. Allow it to sit for at least 3 minutes then rinse.
Another great tip is to towel dry your hair by blotting it rather than rubbing the hair (that breaks the follicles and can lead to frizzy locks!)

Day 6 – Up your water intake

Coming to the end of my healthy hair routine, I continued to replenish my body with filtered water and stuck with my clean eating regime. I left my hair to go all natural on day 6 so that it had the chance to repair itself. I have to admit, avoiding heating tools was hard but I could definitely see the difference already! It was looking less frizzy and felt softer.

Day 7 – Finish with a smoothing blow dry

On Day 7, I could really see the amazing results of caring for my hair with a healthy diet and products that were 100% sulphate-free. I’d avoided using heat tools all week, but as I was heading out again to an event, I opted to wash my hair with Garnier Ultimate Blends The Colour Illuminator Shampoo and Conditioner.

I set my blow dryer to a lower setting and used the mist to create a beautiful smooth finish on my hair. After a week of really caring for it, my hair was in top condition so using the blow dry mist worked wonders!

Try the 7 day hair routine for yourself:

After truly repairing my hair over 7 days, I invite you to give it a go! This is perfect for anyone who struggles with dry or lackluster hair.

Have you tried anything similar to this routine? Do you have new suggestions for me?

Revolution Beyond Flawless Ultra Eyeshadows Review

I didn't need another neutral eyeshadow palette, but when has that ever stopped me? Makeup Revolution released 2 new Ultra Palettes: Beyond Flawless and Flawless Mattes. The original Flawless palette is a favourite of mine. The thing I love about the packaging is that it's actually really compact for the amount of colours in there. They're really travel-freindly as the packaging is sturdy and there's a huge mirror. You can take one away and have everything you could possibly need for the week. We'll start with a closer look at Beyond Flawless. It's mostly shimmers with one or two more glittery shades, some with a pearlescent finish and of course a couple of mattes. Is it just me or is this kind of like they squeezed all 3 Naked palettes into one? The first row are your classic base and highlight colours. My favourite shades are Light Caramel, Expresso and Chestnut. Dove is also a lovely shade; it looks matte in the pan but once you apply it, it definitely has a pearly sheen. The only shade I really don't see myself using is Bare Pink as it's a bit powdery and glittery, whereas the others are smooth with a nice amount of shimmer. So far so pigmented. This next row has two matte shades; Brunette (a really nice pink-grey) and Sandstone, which looks like it has poor colour pay-off but it's actually not too bad at all; it's just basically my skin tone! I'm not mad on Nightfall as it's a little hard to blend, however in small amounts you can use it to smoke up your look a bit. I really love the colours Bronze and Autumn but Cookie Dough is a nice cooler shade too. There's only one matte shade on this row; Tawny and though it isn't that pigmented it's an easy-to-use crease colour. I think the shade I reach for most is Teddy from this set and least is Blackest, as I found it a bit hard to blend. You have pretty much any shade you need to make a neutral eye look a little more smokey and evening-appropriate.
I definitely recommend this palette to you guys, it is affordable and very good quality.

Have you tried yet any products from Revolution? Do you like this palette?

My 3 Favorite Highlighters

Hello my lovelies,

It's been a long time since I wrote a blog post, but I wasn't able at all, and I am really sorry about that. Now I am back, and I am looking forward to it to continue to write blog posts, because I simply love it.
In this blog post I will introduce you my 3-top/favorite highlighters. I hope you enjoy this blog post and it is a really good feeling to be back here. Hope you have an amazing weekend! Lots of love!

The Balm cosmetics: Mary-Lou Manizer

If you want to be seen from the moon, this is the one you need in your life. This is BAM on your face highlighter. Mary-Lou Manizer is the one I prefer to wear for a night out. Not that you can’t wear it during the day, but if you do you are sure to be noticed. Love this one for both its formula and intensity and not to forget the packaging. If you are in for strobing, this one is made for you.

Becca Cosmetics: Opal

Becca cosmetics are known for its highlighter and this one is my personal favorite. Opal is described as “golden opal pearl” which is perfect on warm skin tone. If I compare the shade with other highlighter, it’s no different, but the formula is to die for. The texture on this one is smooth like butter, making it easy to blend. There are no glitter particles; it gives awesome natural sheen on the skin. The powder is finely milled. If you have to go with only one highlighter, I will recommend Becca in the shade Opal.

M.A.C Mineralize Skin finish: Soft & Gentle

Soft&Gentle is described as “gilded peach bronze”. It’s a warm tone highlighter with frost sheen. The powder is not finely milled and has chunky glitter, which can be clearly seen coming off from the pan. However, this drawback does not take away the beauty of the product on the skin. It’s perfect on all skin tones. If you are looking for everyday highlighter I would definitely recommend this one.  It is subtle and beautiful on the skin.

What is your favorite highlighter? Do you have any recommendations for a new highlight that I should try?

My Favourite Summer Nail Polishes

Hello my lovelies,
Hope your having an amazing summer! With summer around the corner I thought I would share some of my go-to summer nail polish shades. Personally I love bright colours for summer especially on my toes.

The latest addition to my ever-growing nail polish collection is a gorgeous neon plum colour, called DJ Play That Song. I love, love, love how super bright this polish is, personally I prefer it on my toes but it looks equally as good on my hands.
The reddish pink shade above, Essie Watermelon, is a flirty and fun shade perfect for summer. It is a deliciously refreshing juicy red polish, much like the beautiful, sweet, ripe flesh of watermelon.
Last but not least is an old favourite, Tangerine, also by Essie. This zesty orange-red polish is so pretty and yes as you may know, I am slightly obsessed with coral or orangy colours, so this is a firm favourite.
There are many more beautiful summery colours available but these are a few of my favourites and colours I consider to be summer essentials.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, it was short but I said it all about these nail polishes, which I really enjoy wearing them every single day.

What are your favourite nail polishes? Any recommendation for a new color?
