January 2015 Favourites

Hello beauties! Here I am with another blog post, and now it's time for the January Favorites. How is January almost over ??? I'm back in college now and settling back into a routine. Anyway, here's what I've been loving this month! This month I usually used more Make Up products, and I love them a lot.

1. First thing first, I've been obsessed with the MaxFactor Lasting Performance in Natural Beige (106) Foundation - I love this foundation! It has a good coverage; it blends nicely on the skin and stays on all day. I've been using this for around 2 months now I haven't changed foundation since. It stays matte all day, but doesn't make my skin appear dry. I would definitely recommend this.

2. The second thing that I've been obsessed with is also the L'Oreal Glam Bronze Wild Instinct in Born To Be Wild  / Dark (303) - it's the perfect bronzer, I also contour with this, it looks very beautiful on the skin. A healthy-looking, summer bronze glow.

3. Now let's talk about this blush Benefit Dandelion Blush - it's the perfect mauve and pinky blush. It shows up more pink on cooler skin tones, and it is peachier on warmer skin tones. It is an interesting combination because it is a cool pink with golden shimmer. This unique combination makes it wearable for people with both cool and warm under tones. I really love this blush.

4. If you didn't found yet the perfect drugstore mascara, here you have it, it's Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara. I noticed that it does add volume to my lashes and it even lengthens it by a bit, which is something I can appreciate because my lashes are so tiny. I usually apply a coat on my lashes and there’s already a notable difference but sometimes if I’m feeling it, I apply a thin second coat on my lashes. There are times when I go crazy and use this after a lash primer, my lashes turn out amazing and super noticeable. It's long-lasting and easy to apply!

5. Last but not least it's Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - I've been using this cleansing water so much lately. The product works using Micells, which are basically little magnets that capture impurities, make-up and sebum on your skin. What I really like about the product is you don’t have to rub and pull at your skin, you just swipe it across your face gently and the Micells do the rest. Just call me the Micellan Woman, okay! :)

What have been your favourites ?

MAC Mocha Blush

I like to call MAC Mocha Blush my little hidden treasure.
It is one of those shades you would easily bypass at a counter yet should you swatch it I can almost guarantee you will walk away with a pan firmly in your clutches.
Why? It is the perfect rosy brown pink that flatters nearly all complexions and due to it being a soft matte finish it is ageless and won't highlight any flawless.
MAC list their Mocha blush as a"soft plum pink" which I would agree with to some degree as it does have a slight blue undertone - not enough that it will be problematic for most skin tones but it is present none the less. In my opinion MAC Mocha is a dusty almost deep pink shade that has a slight cool toned bronze leaning - I like it somewhat to Benefit Dallas only this is far more flattering on the skin and of course shimmer free. The other point I'd like to make is that this applies much deeper than the shade the pan suggests - if applied with a heavy hand it can look a little red in tone. I would like to say MAC Mocha will suit all skin tones but that may be me over stretching, it could garner a little ashen on those with a deeper complexion. However if you are light to medium deep this is a shade I recommend you invest in.
Here in this photo you can see how it looks on the skin. I really love it!

MAC do matte blushes rather well - they are beautifully pigmented, soft to the touch and don't cake or highlight flaws on the skin. Rather they give the skin a natural flush of colour that wears well (up to 9 hours with a primer on my oily skin) that looks soft and does not settle into my enlarged pores. Despite being a silky soft texture there is no issue with product fall out nor pigmentation. At £18 this isn't cheap but it is the one MAC blush that I have repurchased time and time not to mention I wear it all year long. Like I said it is is a little hidden treasure in amongst the countless blush offerings. To try it is to love it!

Do you love Mac cosmetics? Which blush do you like the most?

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review

Okey, when this palette first came out, I was crazy about it. Couldn't wait to have it, and now I use this palette everyday.
Firstly, the packaging is beautiful. It’s quite similar to the Naked 2 palette. It comes with a large mirror inside the lid of the tin as well as a great quality dual-ended brush, perfect for packing on the colour and blending it out. It also comes with four generous samples of Urban Decay’s primer potion. The shadows are easy to blend and have a beautiful, buttery feel to them. It is, without a doubt, a rose-toned palette so it works best on individuals with a pale complexion.
For everyday use, I use Limit on the base of my lid. I apply a small amount of Dust to the inner corner of my eye and Strange just below the brow. If I’m feeling a little more adventurous, or if I have time in the morning before work, I will apply Trick under my eye to create some definition and Nooner in the crease, blended out.
If I’m going out in the evening and I want to create a smoky eye, I’ll use Liaron the base, Factory in the crease and Mugshot under my eye. I’ll use Dust in the inner corner again and Strange under my brow bone as a highlighter.
Color Descriptions :
  • Strange (pale neutral pink matte-satin) / an absolutely gorgeous color for inner corner of eyes or an eyebrow highlighter. Being matte makes it very appropriate for day time wear. Not chalky at all.
  • Dust (pale metallic pink shimmer w/iridescent micro-glitter) / an iridescent pale pink that looks great as a wash of color on the lids.
  • Burnout (light pinky-peach satin) / a satiny beige pink.
  • Limit (light dusty rose matte) / looove this one for everyday look, I use this one all over the lid.
  • Buzz (metallic rose shimmer w/silver micro-glitter) / almost like a loose mauve pink shimmer.
  • Trick (light metallic pinky-copper shimmer w/tonal micro-sparkle) / a beautiful rose gold shimmer. My fav one for evening.
  • Nooner (medium pinky-brown matte) / a great crease shade.
  • Liar (medium metallic mauve shimmer) / a beautiful iridescent taupe mauve.
  • Factory (pinky-brown satin) / a metallic rose gold brown.
  • Mugshot (metallic taupe shimmer w/slight pink shift) / this reminds me of MAC Satin  Taupe.
  • Darkside (deep taupe-mauve satin) / great for a smokey eye look.
  • Blackheart (smoky black matte w/rosy red micro-sparkle)/ Love this one. A blackish mauve with rose gold sparkles.
I love both of these looks and it’s with such ease that you can create them because everything comes from the one palette. I definitely think that this is a worthy purchase and I have to say, hats off to Urban Decay because their choice of colour and texture of shadows are on point, yet again.

What do you think of this palette? Which is your favourite Naked palette? Or, do you prefer the basics palette?

REVIEW: Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner

Well, I must admit that I am obsessed with hair products and hair care! Personally, I feel like my hair is my best feature and therefore, I feel the need to take extra care of it. Now, my hair is long and while I don't expose it to heat often, the ends of my hair have gotten a bit dry and damaged. I've heard some amazing reviews of the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner and having used it for a couple of months now, I feel like I can give a very in depth review of this product.

The Aussie 3 Minute Miracle claims to deep condition your hair in just three minutes. I find that this is true to word as I've left this in my hair from three minutes to about twenty minutes and the results have been the same every time. It really does soften my hair and makes it really silky and shiny. The ends of my hair feel less dry and damaged with prolonged use of this product. The only thing this conditioner doesn't help with is split ends, but I've yet to come across a product that successfully repairs split ends.

This conditioner comes in a 236 mL squeeze bottle and it smells like coconut. The scent lingers in my hair after I've washed out the conditioner. I like to use this about twice a week since I don't suffer from any major hair damage and I'm certainly very pleased with the results.
-It is inexpensive
-It makes your hair really smooth and shiny
-It repairs damaged hair after prolonged use
-It smells really great
This is a great, great alternative to more expensive deep conditioners. I think I'm going to stick to this one from now on since it has made an amazing job for my hair.

Have you tried the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeep Conditioner? What do you think of it?

My Favourite Under Eye Concealers!

Concealer is a makeup product I cannot live without. When you have the right one it will make you look more awake by hiding those under eye circles and will hide your blemishes to make your skin look more flawless than it actually is.
Ok I must admit I can't live without these two concealers! I can't say good enough words about them. This is a great concealer; i have it in the shade 'Ivory' and its a great match for my skin.

Rimmel Wake Me Up 010 Ivory  - this concealer is fantastic for covering up any little blemishes/spots you may have on your face. It also brightens up any dark circles you have under your eyes, giving you that fresh “I just woke up” look. The coverage is light but you can build it up and it blends easily. It isn’t cakey nor dry and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Thank goodness because I hate the feeling of heavy makeup on my face, I just want to scratch it off.
I use this concealer on days where I have an early start or I’m going for a minimal/natural makeup look and can’t be bothered putting on foundation. I will definitely be purchasing this product again since it does everything I’m looking for in a concealer and it is at an affordable price.
The smell of it is very nice and refreshing too, I'd definitely agree with lots of people saying it's almost a fruity smell.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment+Concealer - Light 120 - the consistency is thin, easily blendable and dries to a powder finish. The concealer provides a bit more coverage than medium, and slightly less than full.
The coverage itself is somewhere between medium and full coverage. I absolutely see a great reduction in my dark circles under my eyes. It is also really good for highlighting and brightening underneath the eyes. Sometimes during the day when I want to do a little of subtle contouring, I use this as the cream highlight.
The best drugstore concealer I have tried! It literally blends on to skin so smoothly, immediately covering any blemishes flawlessly! It has super strong pigmentation, so it literally covers EVERYTHING! I also love that is lasts all day long without any creasing, it kind of has a really interesting consistency, because once it sets, it doesn’t move! You only need a super small amount and you are good to go! I will say, there is a brightener and concealer, which is a plus!

Which one is your favourite concealer? Which one should I try next?
